Ryan Ruth Conway, PsyD
Dr. Conway is a child and adolescent psychologist who received her doctoral degree from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, in the combined Clinical and School Psychology program.
Dr. Conway specializes in the delivery of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral interventions for children, adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders. She also has extensive experience conducting parent training with caregivers of children who present with disruptive behaviors and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Dr. Conway has been trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP).
Prior to joining NESCA, Dr. Conway completed her postdoctoral training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center’s Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York, where she treated youth in outpatient, day treatment and inpatient levels of care. Throughout her training Dr. Conway has worked within multidisciplinary settings, conducting therapy and assessments to diverse populations who present with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, learning and psychosocial challenges. She also provided school-based mental health services at an independent school in New York City for children with learning disabilities.
Dr. Conway conducts individual and group therapy at NESCA. She utilizes an individualized approach, tailoring treatments to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. Dr. Conway has a passion for working collaboratively with families and other professionals. She is available for school consultations and provides a collaborative approach for students who engage in school refusal. Dr. Conway’s doctoral dissertation focused on student nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI), examining the knowledge of school psychologists as well as best practices to evaluate and treat this behavior in school settings.
Dr. Conway received her B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Michigan. In her spare time, Dr. Conway enjoys cooking, exercising, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
