Intake Fact Sheet
Nina Olsen, Ph.D. Dr. Nina Olsen completed her postgraduate training in pediatric neuropsychology with Dr. Ann Helmus at Children’s Evaluation Center, and then joined NESCA at its inception. Prior to joining Dr. Helmus, Dr. Olsen completed her doctoral degree at Clark University in Worcester, MA, followed by an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, MA. At Tewksbury Hospital she completed a year-long rotation in adult neuropsychology and was supervised by Dr. Edith Kaplan. Dr. Olsen has worked with children and adolescents throughout her graduate training. She worked as a clinician at Youth Opportunities Upheld (Y.O.U. Inc.) in Worcester, MA for three years, where she conducted psychological evaluations and provided individual as well as family therapy to families facing a variety of issues. Dr. Olsen also trained for one year at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with groups and individuals. Dr. Olsen specializes in working with children with primary learning disabilities and ADHD, as well with children who struggle with emotional issues and/or anxiety. She also provides individual therapy for children, adolescents and young adults, and will target the treatment modality as needed, with a preference for cognitive behavioral therapy. She is a firm believer in a holistic approach to treatment and views her clients as individuals first. |
