Leanna Avery, MA, CRC

Transition Specialist; Certified Rehabilitation Counselor

Leanna Avery, MA CRC, is a transition specialist who brings over a decade of experience to her coaching at NESCA. She currently works as a special educator in a public school in New Hampshire. She has several years of experience as a transition coordinator, also in New Hampshire, and a vocational rehabilitation counselor at an education collaborative in Massachusetts. Mrs. Avery has experience working with individuals with a wide range of disabilities and looks forward to supporting individuals in identifying their areas of need, achieving their goals, and helping them discover and reach their full potential.

She is also a member of the New Hampshire Transition Community of Practice (COP), where she has been able to collaborate with colleagues throughout the state. Mrs. Avery has experience working with individuals 12 to 22 years of age with a focus on transition needs and creating plans for postsecondary education opportunities. She values that each person has unique needs and goals, and that each path should be tailored to the individual.

Through her experiences, Mrs. Avery has administered transition assessments, collaborated with the communities to coordinate job opportunities, taught vocational courses in an educational setting, and worked with state agencies to coordinate services for students and families.

Mrs. Avery holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Rehabilitation Services, and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, both from Assumption University. She holds a national certification in rehabilitation counseling (CRC) and is a Certified Vocational Evaluation Specialist (CVE). She holds a special education teaching certificate in the state of New Hampshire, and has taken courses towards her transition specialist endorsement, to serve individuals in New Hampshire.
