Our Services

At NESCA in Plainville, MA, our expert team will help you navigate care based on your child’s cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. We offer the following services:

  • Neuropsychological evaluations help to better understand why an individual may be having difficulty meeting age-appropriate demands in school, the community, or at home, or to monitor a young person’s progress and course of development. They provide a highly-detailed description of an individual’s developmental status, thinking patterns, and learning style.
    • Neurodevelopmental evaluations assess whether young children between the ages of one and three years old are meeting developmental milestones as expected, helping to determine whether children need Early Intervention services. Findings also support the transition to preschool.
    • Emotional and psychological evaluations focus on emotional, social, and behavioral development, possibly including trauma or psychiatric concerns
    • Academic achievement and learning disability testing, whether examining a possible learning disability or considering basic accommodations, all neuropsychological evaluations carefully consider each individual’s learning profile and how it should be supported within their education.
  • ASD diagnostic clinic conducts developmental screenings for children aged three and under who are considered at high risk of having an autism spectrum disorder. Clinicians examine social communication, relationship skills, and other factors that may contribute to a child’s challenges. These can be either a stand-alone diagnostic evaluation (ages one to three) or part of the broader neuropsychological evaluation for children older than three.

Our Plainville clinicians work with children as young as 12-months-old, adolescents, and young adults. We also have expertise in assessing complex profiles, such as children with limited/no verbal communication, motor limitations, and/or impulsive behaviors.

Additional services include:

  • School- and District-based Consultation, Observation, and Team Meeting Participation
  • Coaching services focusing on executive functioning, real-life skills, employment, and parent coaching
  • Postsecondary Transition Assessment and Services
  • Psychoeducational Counseling and Individual Psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Consultation services support schools, community organizations, and parents to improve outcomes for neurodivergent students and employees
