Erin Gibbons, Ph.D.

Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Dr. Gibbons has expertise in neuropsychological assessment of infants, children, and adolescents presenting with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and attention deficit disorders. She has a particular interest in assessing students with complex medical histories and/or neurological impairments, including those who are cognitively delayed, nonverbal, or physically disabled. Dr. Gibbons also enjoys working with young children, especially those who are transitioning from Early Intervention into preschool. Having been trained in administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), Dr. Gibbons has experience diagnosing autism spectrum disorders in children aged 12 months and above.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gibbons is a graduate of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program through the Institute for Community Inclusion. Through this fellowship, Dr. Gibbons developed skills in advocacy for and treatment of children and adolescents with (or at risk for) neurodevelopmental disabilities and special health care needs.

Dr. Gibbons joined NESCA in 2011 after completing a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in the Developmental Medicine Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. In the course of her training, Dr. Gibbons has also served as a clinician at Dean College Children’s Center in Franklin, MA, the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA, and the Home for Little Wanderers in Roslindale, MA. She also worked at the May Institute in Chatham, MA, providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.

Dr. Gibbons earned a B.A. with Honors in Psychology from Brown University in Providence, RI, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Massachusetts and is a Blue Cross provider.

Dr. Gibbons lives in Medfield, Massachusetts with her husband and two young children. As a family, they enjoy going for walks, exploring local parks, and visiting grandparents in Maine.
