Julie Weieneth, Ph.D.

Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Dr. Weieneth is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with children and families with complex diagnostic and treatment needs for the last twenty years. Her areas of specialty include ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, learning disabilities, executive functioning, and school-related challenges. That being said, Dr. Weieneth also understands that not all individuals fit cleanly into diagnostic groups or labels. Her goals for each evaluation are to help families feel comfortable with the process, use all the tools available to best understand each individual’s unique strengths and needs, and to write a clear and comprehensive report that will guide educational and treatment planning.

Dr. Weieneth received her doctorate in clinical psychology with a child and family concentration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her research interests focus on the assessment and development of ADHD and disruptive behavior disorders in early childhood, and she has published in several prominent journals, including Journal of Educational Psychology, Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, and Developmental Psychology. She has gained specialized training through her predoctoral internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center/Worcester State Hospital and postdoctoral fellowship at the Developmental Medicine Center, Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining NESCA, Dr. Weieneth worked as a staff psychologist at Achieve New England in Concord for the last three and a half years, completing integrated neuropsychological and academic evaluations. She also has extensive experience with school-based assessment and intervention, and having served for 14 years as a staff psychologist in therapeutic school settings, including the Manville School in Boston and the New England Academy in Beverly.

Dr. Weieneth lives just north of Boston with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys reading almost anything fiction, walking her dog, going for hikes in nature with her family, baking with her children, and watching her children do what they love (dancing, soccer, and track). During the pandemic, her silver lining was that she started a daily meditation practice, and this continues to bring her a sense of peace and calm every day.
