Miranda Milana, Psy.D.

Pediatric & Adult Neuropsychologist

Dr. Miranda Milana provides comprehensive evaluation services for children and adolescents with a wide range of needs, including autism spectrum disorders, attention and communication difficulties, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and learning challenges. Her expertise extends to working with diagnostically and medically complex youth, including those who are nonverbal, nonreading, or have difficulty showing their strengths in language-based cognitive evaluations. Dr. Milana is highly skilled at adapting her approach to meet each child’s unique developmental level and needs, ensuring that all children receive the support they deserve, regardless of how they present in traditional testing environments.

She is particularly passionate about supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and those whose profiles do not neatly align with standard diagnostic categories. Dr. Milana places great emphasis on creating a testing environment that is approachable and comfortable, allowing for the most accurate assessment of each child’s abilities. She also values collaboration with families and outside providers to facilitate supports and services that are finely tailored to a child’s specific needs. Dr. Milana also evaluates adults who are questioning whether they may have ADHD, ASD, learning challenges, depression, and anxiety.

Dr. Milana joined NESCA in 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a variety of clinical settings. She worked for two years at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Developmental Medicine department, where she gained substantial experience with medically and diagnostically complex cases. Her training also includes work at the Beacon Assessment Center and The Brenner Center. Dr. Milana earned her B.A. from the University of New England and her doctorate from William James College (WJC), where she was a part of the Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience (CFAR) program. Her early training included providing therapeutic services across various settings, such as an elementary school, the Family Health Center of Worcester, and Roger Williams University. Notably, Dr. Milana has received specialized training in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), widely recognized as the “gold standard” for evaluating autistic children.

A native New Englander, Dr. Milana grew up in Maine and enjoys visiting her family throughout the year. She currently resides in Wrentham, Massachusetts, with her husband, toddler, and two golden retrievers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and cheering on the Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, and Celtics.
